Simple Biopsy, is a quick and simple procedure that is usually done in the specialist’s room. You will be given a local anaesthetic to numb the area, then the specialist will either: completely cut out the spot and a small amount of healthy tissue around it to be tested (excision biopsy) or only take a small amount of the abnormal lesion. A small amount of discomfort and bleeding is common.
